A to Z RentAll and Event Essentials began in 1954 with a franchise agreement between husband-and-wife duo Rex and Enid Hoffman and United Rent-Alls of Lincoln, Nebraska. Beginning with only $5,000 to invest, their first location had outgrown its original space by 1965.

Rex and Enid witnessed their rental store outgrow several previous locations, including one that was heavily damaged by a fire at an E. Washington Avenue location in 1979 (though this fire never dissuaded hardworking employees, or even affected regular business hours). Rex lived to see A to Z RentAll’s 48th year. Enid, now over 80, still drops in to keep in touch with their business.

A to Z’s first years were largely dependent on homeowners for tools and household equipment, but social event planners quickly made A to Z RentAll a favorite place for party equipment, and later on audiovisual equipment and electronics.

A to Z has continued to expand, even briefly exploring home video rentals when they were first introduced, and now includes medium-sized contractor and construction equipment. Event Essentials developed into the event rental side of the business and has a variety of products including tents, linens and even bounce houses.

Today A to Z RentAll is the area’s premier equipment rental service outlet operating out of our Stoughton Road location. Event Essentials is our event rental branch with offices in Windsor, Wisconsin. We pride ourselves on our dedicated service, dependability, and quality rental products. We don’t overuse our equipment by keeping it too long, and we clean and service our entire inventory regularly to keep it in top-notch shape.
